How does the process work?
Every project starts with a conversation about your business, your goals, and what you need from your website. From there, I put together a recommendation and a clear scope. Once we agree on the plan, I handle the design, development, SEO setup, and launch. You'll see progress along the way and give feedback at key milestones. After launch, I stay on through a monthly partnership to keep the site healthy and improving.
How long does a project take?
Most smaller builds (5–7 pages) take three to five weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger builds (8+ pages) typically take five to eight weeks depending on complexity. Timelines depend on how quickly we can align on content and feedback, but I'll give you a clear estimate before we start.
Do I need to have my content ready before we start?
Nope, content development is part of the process. I work with you to develop the right messaging for your site. You bring the knowledge of your business, and I help shape it into copy that works online. If you have existing branding, copy, photos, or video, those come in handy as the project takes shape. Nothing is required to get started though.
Will I own my website?
Yes, completely. You own the domain, the code, and all your content. Everything is set up under your accounts. If you ever decide to move on, it all goes with you. I don't lock clients into proprietary systems or hold sites hostage.
What if I already have a website?
That's common. Most clients come to me with an existing site that isn't performing the way they want. I'll take a look at what you have, identify what's working and what isn't, and build something new that replaces it completely. Migration from your old site to the new one is handled as part of the project.
Pricing & payments
How much does a website cost?
Custom site builds range from $4,000 to $15,000 depending on scope. A solo operator or single-location business with a handful of pages sits near the bottom of the range. Multi-provider or multi-location builds with more pages, deeper content, and more SEO work run higher. I'll walk through your scope with you and give you a clear number before any work starts.
What's the monthly partnership, and is it required?
After launch, I offer monthly plans starting at $200/month for maintenance (hosting, security, updates, backups, minor edits) and $750/month for active growth (everything in maintenance plus ongoing SEO refinement, content updates, and performance tuning). The monthly partnership is the recommended path and how EMR Digital sites keep performing long after launch. If you have a specific reason to do a build-only project, we can discuss that.
What happens if I cancel the monthly partnership?
Your site stays live and fully yours. The monthly partnership is what keeps your site improving, not simply what keeps it online. If you decide to cancel, I'll make sure you have everything you need, and you take over responsibility for hosting, security, and updates.
Do you offer payment plans?
I'm flexible on payment structure. Typically the site build is split into a deposit at kickoff and the balance at launch, but I'm happy to discuss what works for your situation.
Technical questions
What technology do you use?
Every site is built on Next.js (a modern web framework known for speed and SEO performance) with Sanity CMS for content management and Tailwind CSS for styling. This stack gives you a fast, flexible site that's easy to maintain and built on technology that will age well.
Will I be able to edit my own site?
Yes. Every site comes with a content management system (Sanity CMS) configured so you can make common updates yourself: changing business hours, adding a team member bio, publishing a blog post, or adding a new job posting. For anything more involved, that's what the monthly partnership covers.
Do you handle hosting?
Yes. Hosting is included in every monthly partnership plan. Your site is deployed on modern infrastructure with SSL, automatic backups, and uptime monitoring. You don't need to think about it.
What about SEO?
Every site includes a full technical SEO foundation: clean site structure, meta tags, schema markup, page speed optimization, local search setup, and structure for AI-powered search visibility (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, and others). The Growth plan adds ongoing SEO refinement based on real ranking data and search analytics.
Scope & services
Do you handle social media, paid ads, or email marketing?
My focus is web development and technical SEO, and that's where I put all my attention. Managing social media, running ad campaigns, and building email flows are outside what I offer.
Can you redesign my Squarespace/Wix/WordPress site?
Yes. I'll build you a completely new site on a modern tech stack that outperforms what a template platform can deliver in terms of speed, SEO, and flexibility. Migration from your current platform to the new site is handled as part of the project.
Do you work with businesses outside of Texas?
Absolutely. I'm based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, but location isn't a barrier. The process is the same regardless of where you are: we communicate over phone, email, and video.
What if I'm not sure what I need?
That's completely fine, and it's one of the most common starting points. Reach out and tell me about your business. I'll take a look at where you are and give you an honest recommendation, even if the answer is that you don't need my help right now.
